pen and brick: THE Art studio AND design advisory
Pen & Brick is Raymond Girard’s studio practice and design advisory.
Rather than choosing between being an artist and an advisor, Raymond chose both. His work is focused on two areas: the creation of sculptures big and small, room-size installations, and advisory work supporting the design and delivery of distinctive travel, retail, and premium public spaces.
Both practices are grounded in the same foundations: architecture, design thinking, and a deep interest in how people experience space and form. They’re approached with the same level of rigor, creativity, curiosity and above all, passion.
the Art studio
Pen & Brick creates sculptures and immersive installations exploring architecture, urbanity and the emotional language of infrastructure. Working primarily with LEGO® bricks, the studio operates across scales from tabletop works to room-sized and site-specific installations, combining structural rigour with sensitivity to atmosphere, narrative, culture and place.
the design Advisory
Alongside its art and sculpture practice, Pen & Brick undertakes selective advisory work focused on the design and delivery of experience-led spaces. This work supports travel, retail, and premium environments (commercial and residential) where architectural intent, brand expression, functional needs, and commercial realities must align.
RAYMOND GIRARD
Pen & Brick is Raymond Girard’s passion project, led collaboratively with a trusted network of designers, makers, strategists, and partners who have worked with him across art, design, travel, and advisory projects over many years. Trained in interior design and architecture, Raymond brings a considered, team-oriented approach shaped by senior leadership roles in global travel media, collaborations with leading design firms in North America, and his own design practice, with a shared focus on creating spaces and experiences that feel thoughtful, coherent, and satisfying to use.
